Roma Owsińska (sopran)
In 1984 she finished her musical studies at the Vocal and Theatrical Department of the Music Academy i £ód¼. Afterwards she was engaged as a soloist at the Great Theatre in £ód¼.
She successfully made her appearance in several opera contests eg.: she was awarded the First Prize at the Kiepura Vocal Tournament in Krynica (1986) and she won the Special Prize awarded by the Federation of Bulgarian Composers at the International Opera Contest in Sofia (1988).
Being an operatic singer her reportoire includes also oratorios and symphony music as well as recitals given in Poland and abroad. She was on a concert tour in Italy, Sicily, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Many times she went individually abroad to take part in concerts. The most interesting are: Messa c-moll by Mozart performed together with the Great Orchestra of the Polish Radio and TV in Sicily; 9th Symphony by L. van Beethoven at the Royal Palace in Madrid (1988); Stabat Mater by Pergolesi at the Cathedral (1990); concerts at the International Festival of Liturgical Music in Israel performed with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and the National Philharmonic choir in Warsaw under K. Penderecki and Roberto Benzi; concerts with the Symphony Orchestra of Bilbao under A. Gomez Martinez; triple tour in France : in 1988 Requiem by Brahms, in 1989 Messa Solemnis by Beethoven and in 1990 Requiem by Verdi. In November 1993 she was a success at the Seoul International Music Festival in So Korea where she sang Symphony No. 3 by M. Górecki.
